Discipleship: The Heart of the Kingdom Mission
At Kingdom Mission International (KMI), we are guided by a profound understanding of the Great Commission as conveyed by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. Instead of a mere call to make converts, Jesus charged his followers to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that He commanded.

Discipleship:
The Heart of the Kingdom Mission
At Kingdom Mission International (KMI), we are guided by a profound understanding of the Great Commission as conveyed by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. Instead of a mere call to make converts, Jesus charged his followers to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that He commanded.
Reflecting on my early experiences in evangelism, I realized that a focus solely on conversion could fall short. Despite my zeal, conveying the gospel didn't always resonate with others. It became apparent that the essence of the Great Commission goes beyond evangelism; it's a mandate for discipleship.
In grasping the significance of discipleship, it's crucial to define what a disciple is. A disciple, in the simplest terms, is a learner or pupil who directs their mind toward specific knowledge and conduct. The ancient Greek philosophers had disciples who followed them, absorbing their teachings and philosophies. In the biblical context, Jesus was the ultimate peripatetic teacher, calling individuals to follow Him, not just as a great teacher but as the Lord of all.
Biblical discipleship goes beyond mere intellectual learning; it involves walking with the Teacher, Jesus, and learning from His words. Jesus handpicked His disciples, requiring them to leave their former lives and follow Him. Their commitment went beyond a classroom setting; it was a transformative, lifelong experience of submitting fully to the authority of Christ.
At KMI, our mission aligns with the biblical understanding of discipleship. We strive to extend Christ's authority over the whole world by sharing the gospel and making disciples. Our goal is not just evangelism but a comprehensive discipleship that involves committing hearts and minds to follow the thinking and conduct of the Master. Discipleship, for us, is a continuous, lifelong journey of learning the mind of Christ and following His will.
In line with the Great Commission, KMI aims to flood the world with knowledgeable, articulate Christians dedicated to worshiping God and passionately following Jesus Christ. Our mission is discipleship in the biblical sense, a commitment to raising a generation dedicated to the Master and His authority. We invite you to join us on this transformative journey of obedience and following Christ in every aspect of life.
